San Pedro de Atacama, Chile

Rosie & B, the two girls from England on the Salt Flats trip were great craic, Ronan an Irish lad from Wicklow town was also good banter so we all decided to stick around in San Pedro de Atacama in Chile for a few days.
After a good nights rest Ronan and I hit the bikes. It was hot during the day and its bit crazy to think that we were so close to Bolivia as the weather had suprisingly yet positively changed.
It wasnt long before we had made 3 new dog friends, which followed us the whole day through thick and thin, they deserved a blue peter badge but there was no shop insight.
The cycle had somewhat of a cross country feel ..one might say !!!
We got the bikes across and now it was time for me to get across.
Im smiling so much as, Ronan had just fallen after doing the 2nd jump and i kept laughing which resulted in me having to do the possibly fatal jump ha ha lol.
B learning how to beat her mental block about riding a bike
Star Gazing, always looked at them but not a notion, now i know a little about the stars in the wrong hemisphere :)
Check Saturn out below
This really is not a back-drop. Its the milkyway with 30 second slow shutter.

  3. Another post.. another country. Glad you stopped off for a while in one place and recharged.

News from the northern hemisphere is...

that this is my last week in Dublin .... very excited. I've pretty much cleared the flat apart from essentials and it looks like I've been burgled.

been reading Tony's blog.. good to see you two can still keep the competitive thing going from opposite continents.

Kim has started in Pocket Kings... the canteen is restaurant quality with brekkie and lunch for free and dindins for 10c. Yes I know I should be asking about the job but I've always been all about the food. She said the place has about doubled in staff in the last 2 years so its def the place to be... they seem to have money to burn. Not like ole truvo who will be burning back issues of the books for heat this winter....

At the pace you're going, I reckon you'll be done with SA in about July >??? where to next Australia/ NZ???

    hugs Jen.

  4. Hey Mate. Looks like you are still at the death defying stunts, that river looked wicked deep and fast - you could have killed yourself jumping the 3 feet across. LOL. Now go do something that does involve risk, like applying for a job ha ha
