Punta del Este, Uruguay

Although its winter time on this side of the world i was fortunbate enough to get some good weather when visiting the sunny side resort of Punta del Este, Uruguay. I was in odd form on arrival but on the second day i had a great relaxing time as i walked the promenade and saw a glimpse of summer in Sunny South America. When anything is listed in the Lonely Planet guide book, it implies prices generally increase, but i was suprised to see them double in 3 years. I had a beauty of a chivito, .) they are well recomended. Check out this bad boy of a restaurant for lunch if your here. The last remaining house on the waterfront. I failed to mention that when i arrived in Colonia , once again i missed the stamp in the passport, i forgot about it untill the night i wanted to leave. After a brief chat in the kitchen with the immigration officer at the Uruguan border and a friendly donation to his tea society, i was all set for Brazil :) In Brazil i got a 90 day visa without them even seeing me, they didnt request anyone to get off the bus, very relaxed odd alltogether.

  1. Hiya

must be running out of south american countries at this stage.... Is Brazil the last port of call.

Nothing exciting to report this end... still looking for a job... its really tough going but I've an interview on Monday so that's a start. As I haven't interviewed in almost 9 years I expect to make a complete balls of it but you have to start somewhere. In the meantime have been working on getting my GAP qualification. If I can survive the annoying american voices (Sesame St quality) I'll be doing well... not that anyone here seems terribly interested in the qualification but its something to do.

Still loving London though... Mam and Dad arrive for a visit on Tues so have a copy of Time Out at the ready. Going home in Sept for a weekend cos my tenents are moving out and I have to arrange the handover... Hopefully will be able to catch up with Tony either here or Dublin cos he said he's home at the end of Sept....

So what are your plans now.. feeling the pull of home or ready to take on the next continent?

    Be good

    hugs Jen.
